1.6 MW photovoltaic system for Ford Otosan Romania

As part of Ford Otosan Romania’s energy efficiency and sustainability strategy, a high-capacity photovoltaic system was implemented, intended to produce renewable energy for own consumption and optimize the energy consumption of the industrial facility. The project was carried out on the roof of the LCB hall and represents one of the largest photovoltaic installations implemented in an industrial environment.

The developed solution included the installation of 2,753 photovoltaic panels and the integration of 15 Huawei 100 kW inverters, along with the entire electrical infrastructure necessary for the operation of the system. The configuration was adapted to the structural characteristics of the building and the operational requirements of the beneficiary, to ensure optimal performance and efficient integration into the existing energy infrastructure.

An important element of the project is the intelligent energy management system, designed to optimize consumption and limit the export of the energy produced to the public grid. Through this approach, the energy generated is used as a priority to power internal processes, helping to reduce operational costs and increase energy independence.

The implementation of the project demonstrates how large-scale PV solutions can support the decarbonisation goals of the industrial sector while delivering long-term economic and operational benefits.
