The integration of a renewable energy production solution in a building with representative historical and commercial value for Bucharest was the main objective of this project. The photovoltaic system installed at the Obor Central Halls contributes to reducing the energy consumption of the public grid and increasing the energy efficiency of one of the most well-known markets in Romania.
The project included the installation of a photovoltaic system with a power of 100 kW, consisting of 244 panels with an individual power of 410 W, located on the roof of the building. The total area occupied by the system is approximately 476 square meters, and the technical configuration was adapted to the particularities of the existing structure.
The implementation involved overcoming technical challenges generated by both the specifics of the construction and the extensive routes required for the electrical infrastructure. However, the project was successfully completed, resulting in a facility capable of producing approximately 107 MWh of electricity annually.
By harnessing solar energy, Obor Central Halls benefit from reduced energy costs and a reduction in environmental impact, contributing to the development of a more sustainable operating model for one of the most important commercial destinations in the Capital.
